NEPRA approves 74 paisas per unit cut for Karachi

According to the regulatory authority the cut has been made in monthly fuel adjustment charges.

K-Electric, the power utility supplying electricity to Karachi, has said that the company has benefited Rs. 3000 per metric ton in the month of October due to the lowering oil prices. The company has saved Rs. 1.004 billion on the account of the fuel costs.

The power generation with the hydal source goes down by half in winter, sources said.

During a public hearing the NEPRA officials had said that larger cuts could not be made in the power tariff.
