ISLAMABAD: Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who is facing trial in corruption cases filed against him by the NAB, wondered on Tuesday what could be the reason behind the cases instituted against him.

“Whichever court I see I find a case being heard against me. What could be the reason of all these cases,” Sharif wondered and asked for looking into the reason.

Speaking after emerging from the accountability court hearing the corruption cases against him and members of his family, he said the Supreme Court and high courts have been hearing cases against him for some time.

The former premier said he had yet not decided whether or not to appear before the apex court in the petitions seeking to determine the period of disqualification of public representatives under Article 62, which led to his ouster from the top office.

He said the previous allegations were repeated in a supplementary reference filed against him lately with regard to the Sharifs’ London properties case.

There was nothing new in the new reference, he declared.

Earlier, an accountability court dismissed objections raised by his counsel on the supplementary reference filed against the former prime minister.
