ISLAMABAD: Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday declined to comment on his arch-rival PTI chief Imran Khan’s intentions of getting married for the third time, saying he is not in favour of commenting on personal matters.
Speaking to reporters on the premises of the accountability court here today, Sharif said Imran’s marriage was a personal matter and he didn’t want to comment on it.
In a reference to the PTI chief having proposed marriage to his spiritual guide, Nawaz Sharif said Khan bit the hands that fed him.
On Sunday, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) rejected the media reports that its chief has married secretly for the third time and clarified that he has only proposed marriage to Bushra Maneka.
When asked if he was ready to face a protest movement to be launched by the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) from Jan 17, Sharif said he had been facing such movements for more than four years now.
It has become a routine to face movements, he added.
Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law retired Captain Safdar appeared before the accountability court as it resumed their trial in three references filed against them by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
