KARACHI: Mutahida Quami Movement Pakistan leader Amir Khan on Thursday lashed out at their London faction, saying that they are weakening the party here while enjoying a lavish life abroad.
Amir Khan, while addressing the media, said that MQM-London was swaying away their members in Karachi. “I request them, Wasey Jalil, to come to Pakistan to stand with our workers,” he challenged.
“Those who are in London only want to weaken the MQM,” he said. Amir Khan said that they were with their workers while those in London were living a lavish life there.
Earlier, MQM-P convener Dr. Farooq Sattar inaugurated a cleanliness drive as part of the 100-day development project initiated by Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that they will serve the city with good intentions. “We will not just collect garbage, but will provide a waste collection system.” he said.
He vowed to carry forward the cleanliness campaign and work for the development of the city despite all hindrances including the lack of resources and provision of rights and responsibilities.
On the other hand, MQM London leader Nadeem Nusrat, tweeted that no one should protest against the cleanliness drive but rather Waseem Akhtar should be given an opportunity to serve the city.
