ISLAMABAD: Met office has predicted a westerly wave likely to approach western parts of the country on 02nd March.
Rainfall and (snowfall over the hills) expected in Balochistan’s Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chagai, Noushki, Kharan, Kalat, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Harnai, Zhob and Sherani on 02nd and 03rd March, under the influence of the weather system.
Rain and snowfall is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chitral, Dir, Swat, Peshawar and other districts, Murree, Galliyat, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from 02nd to 04th March.
Rainfall is also expected in Islamabad and Punjab’s Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Lahore and other districts on 02nd and 03rd March.
Light rainfall is expected in Bhakkar, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur and other districts of south Punjab.
Sindh’s Larkana and Sukkur districts likely to receive rainfall on 02nd and 03rd March.
Moderate to few heavy snowfalls may cause road closure/slippery conditions in Murree, Galliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, in GB’s Astore, Hunza, Skardu, and Kashmir’s Neelum valley, Bagh, Poonch, Haveli during forecast period.
There is possibility of landslides/avalanche in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the period.
Hailstorm is also expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab /Islamabad and Kashmir.
