LSE’s director visibly impressed by first-ever visit to Pakistan

Mr. Calhoun interacted with alumni at LSE South Asia Centre in Islamabad and also addressed the gathering. He was visibly impressed by a reception given by the Pakistanis and LSE alumni.

Earlier, the LSE director met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM House.

He appreciated overall improved situation in Pakistan. Mr. Calhoun said the improved security environment and positive economic indicators have contributed towards building a positive image of Pakistan.

Craig Calhoun said in recognition of the achievements of the founding father of Pakistan, a proposal to establish Jinnah Chair in London School of Economics is being considered.

They also discussed in detail the possibilities of students’ exchange programs.
