He made the statement while talking to media after a ceremony of Shahbaz Sharif inter-union council (UC) cricket tournament here in Rawalpindi.
The information minister said that Pakistani sports celebrities used to bring glory to the country and were famous across the world.
“Pakistan has been deprived of its sports stars and has headed towards terrorism,” Rasheed said.
He went on to say that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s promises of reviving the sporting culture of the country, is being fulfilled.
