The Rescue 1122 officials informed that a fire erupted in Gold Mines commercial plaza located in Lahore’s Ichhra area. They caused of the fire was probably due to short circuit.
The blaze engulfed two floors of the building thus trapping over 50 people. The rescue teams reached the spot and began to evacuate people. The fire was doused after hours of hectic effort by rescue team.
One of the trapped men jumped off the building to escape the fire and he died, said the rescue official.
The victim could not be identified as yet.
Hospital sources said that four of the injured persons were in critical condition.
