PESHAWAR: Minister for Schools Shahram Tarakai on Tuesday announced that educational institutes having below 99 percent unvaccinated students will face closure after February 16 as per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) guidelines, ARY NEWS reported.
Taking to Twitter, Shahram Tarakai said that currently no educational institutions are being closed in the KP province and the teaching process will continue in a usual manner.
“All private schools in the province must complete vaccination of children aged 12 and above [as soon as possible],” he said while reminding that the vaccination campaign will begin from February 01 and continue till February 15.
He warned that all educational institutions falling short of vaccinating 99 percent of their students by February 16 will be closed under the NCOC’s guidelines.
On January 19, the country’s nerve centre for Covid-19 response had announced a string of restrictions to curb rising Covid-19 cases.
It decided that classes for students aged below 12 years will be allowed with 50 per cent attendance in cities having an infection rate of over 10%. In other cities, however, schools will remain open with full attendance and students over the age of 12 years must be fully vaccinated.
