According to details, heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies carried out a search operation at Lyari slaughter house area by sealing entry and exit points of the locality. The gangster, identified as Hasnain alias Sheti Lal, opened fire at the law enforcement personnel and was killed in the retaliatory shooting.
SSP City Fida Hussain Janwari has said that the slain gangster was affiliated with Baba Ladla gang and was wanted to the police for several criminal offences including target killing and extortion.
Eleven suspects, including three street criminals, were rounded up by the police from Manghopir’s Sultanabad area. Police also recovered weapons from the possession of the arrested persons.
A police party raided a gambling den in New Town area and arrested six gamblers named Mumtaz, Shafiq, Akmal, Tahir, Farooq and Ahmed along with cash.
