The main reason provided by the electric corporation for load-shedding in exempted areas was due to the shortage of gas pressure. Due to low pressure of gas, most of the power plants’s generation capacity was affected. Also, KANUPP Power Plant was also non-operational due to technical reasons.
K-Electric announced that areas which were previously exempted from load-shedding will face 3 hours of load-shedding. This will be done so that other parts of the city will not have to bear more than 7.5 hours of load-shedding.
The organization also advised consumers to conserve as much energy as was possible, whilst the situation was brought under control.
