The Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP), Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk will administer the oath.
A meeting of the 12-member Parliamentary Committee on the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) in Islamabad had selected Justice Raza as the CEC. Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Mutahidda Qaumi Movement and Awami National Party also endorsed the newly-picked candidate.
Islamuddin Sheikh of the PPP had recommended the name of Sardar Raza.
