KASHMORE: Two accused of murder were forced to walk on fire here to prove their innocence, ARY News reported on Saturday. 

A tribal Jirga in Abdullah Mazari village in district Kashmore of Sindh, while deciding the matter of the murder of two persons, forced two accused of the offence to walk on fire to prove their innocence.

Local police played its role as silence spectator during the assembly of tribesmen and avoided to interfere in tribal proceedings.  

In some areas of Pakistan the practice of firewalk used by tribesmen as a method of justice, wherein the accused is asked to walk on fire; if he does firewalk and remain unharmed, he will be deemed innocent, otherwise he will be declared guilty.
