ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) was allowed to hold its Gaza solidarity march in capital city after the party’s successful talks with Islamabad Police, ARY News reported on Sunday.
JI will begin its protest rally from Abpara Chowk in Islamabad, in solidarity with Gaza strip where Palestinians facing an incessant bombardment from the occupation forces of Israel.
The administration has not allowed entry of the rally participants to the Srinagar Highway, high security zone.
A convoy of the party has left Peshawar to participate in the rally. A convoy comprises of 30 vehicles has reached motorway interchange.
Scores of leaders and members of JI were detained on Saturday for planning to stage a protest demonstration outside the United States embassy in the federal capital on Sunday (today).
The capital administration took the action against the party after their refusal to relocate their planned protest away from the US embassy.
