TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that its latest operation employed a new tactic that caused Israel’s multi-layered defense systems to target each other.

According to a statement released by the IRGC, the operation ‘Operation Sadeq’ leveraged new information and equipment-based capabilities. The IRGC warned that Operation Sadeq 3 and future campaigns would be “more devastating, more complex, more precise, and more destructive.”

IRGC’s affiliated, Sepah News, reported that a new wave of missile strikes had been launched by Iran’s air and space forces, describing them as more powerful and damaging than previous attacks.

“In this operation, the IRGC managed to disrupt Israel’s command-and-control systems to such an extent that its own defense layers targeted one another,” the statement said.

Despite the advanced defense technology and full backing of the United States and Western allies, the IRGC said that its missiles successfully hit key targets across Israel.

These operations against the vital centers of this fabricated regime will continue until its complete eradication, the statement added.

The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the strikes. Israeli officials have repeatedly said the defence system is not 100% and warned of tough days ahead.

Meanwhile, Iran’s missiles struck Israel’s Tel Aviv and the port city of Haifa in an early morning raid on Monday, destroying homes.

Israel’s national emergency service said five people were killed in the country’s centre while dozens more were wounded in the overnight strikes, part of a wave of attacks by Tehran in retaliation for Israel’s strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs that began on Friday.

Search and location operations were underway in the port city of Haifa where around 90 people were wounded, emergency authorities said, as dozens of first responders rushed to the strike zones. Fires were seen burning at a power plant near the port, media reported.
