DUBAI: India continued their winning streak after a convincing victory over New Zealand in the final group-stage game of the Champions Trophy 2025 (today) Sunday.

India scored 249-9 in their 50 overs against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium whereas in response New Zealand were all out at 205 in 46th over.

Indian spinners weaved web around the New Zealand batters, collecting nine out of the 10 wickets that fell in the second half of the final group match of the tournament.

Leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy leads the way with a haul of 5/42, collecting his maiden ODI five-for in the process.

The two sides have already qualified for the semi-finals, having won their two respective games against Pakistan and Bangladesh.

After todays win, India will face Australia in the semifinals. On the other hand, New Zealand will meet Group B table-toppers South Africa in the semis.

While reports had earlier said that Rohit Sharma would be given rest for the game, he came out for the toss, confirming he recovered from the hamstring injury he sustained during their game against Pakistan.

Both sides entered Champions Trophy 2025 on the back of strong performances as New Zealand won the tri-nation ODI series in Pakistan against the hosts and South Africa.

India continued their winning streak from a home ODI series victory against England to consecutive victories in the Champions Trophy 2025 group stage against Pakistan and Bangladesh.
