IHC dismisses Siddique Jan’s plea against FIA

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed the plea of journalist and Bol News Bureau Chief Siddique Jan’s against Federal Investigation Authority (FIA), ARY News reported on Tuesday.

As per details, Cheif Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) Amir Farooq heard the case where Siddique Jan appeared before the court along with his counsel.

The additional Attorney General told the court that only one inquiry is in progress against the journalist Siddique.

In response Siddique told the court that he will join the inquiry but the FIA should provide him details of cases against him.

The Bol news journalist Siddique had filed plea against harassment in Islamabad High court (IHC).

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) had ordered the police to discharge names of arrested journalist Siddique and Mohammad Idris from the case.

Siddique was arrested by plain-clothed men from outside his Bol News office in Islamabad. The police after one day’s physical remand produced Siddique before the court.

The anti-terrorism court (ATC) had ordered the arrested journalist to deposit 50,000 rupees surety bond in the court. The prosecutor had pleaded for five days’ physical remand of Siddique for further investigation.
