According to SP Mirpur Zahid Mirza, locals found the bodies of Wazir Zada and his wife Sabar Dana which were shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Mirpur for post mortem.
The deceased man had eloped with Sabar Dana, who was his sister-in-law. They tied the knot after settling in Azad Kashmir and had two children aged three and five.
The police officer said that the couple were sleeping when unknown persons barged into their homes and axed them to death.
The First Information Report (FIR) of the incident has been filed and investigation is underway.
