Heatwave conditions may end by tomorrow

Heatwave, continue till tomorrow, Met Office

KARACHI: The ongoing heatwave may persist in Karachi till the evening today, the city to get relief from searing temperatures by tomorrow, according to the Met Office.

Maximum temperature in the city could soar to 41 Celsius today. Mercury likely to drop in the port city by Thursday (tomorrow).

The sea breeze may restore partially today, while expected to fully restore by April 24 tomorrow (Thursday) deputy director weather department earlier said.

The weather has been hot and humid today. The feel-like temperature in the city could increase after the sea breeze restored, owing to increased humidity in the air, deputy director Anjum Nazeer Zaigham said.

Yesterday maximum temperature 44 Celsius recorded in Jacobabad, while 43 C reported from Chhore, Larkana, Lasbela, Mithi, Dadu, Mirpur Khas and Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah).

Excessive heating and soaring temperatures may generate dust storms/windstorms during the hot weather spell.

Met Office predicted likely increase in the feel-like temperature from Friday.

Yesterday the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued an advisory about adverse weather conditions and increasing temperatures up to April 27.
