Two armed men on a motorbike opened fire on Sub Inspector Muhammad Zafar when he was passing through Nawan Kalli stop in Quetta’s Zarghoonabad locality, police sources said.
The attackers opened indiscriminate fire and killed the policeman on the spot, police sources said.
The assailants escaped from the crime scene after the attack.
The dead body of the slain policeman was transferred to Civil Hospital, Quetta for the formalities.
Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, I.G. Police and other high officials attended the funeral prayers of the deceased policeman at Quetta police lines.
Chief Minister Zehri assured the sons of late policeman that the killers of their father will be brought to justice soon.
