RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Muhammad Aamer on Monday took charge as the new Commander of the Gujranwala Corps following a reshuffle announced on October 06, ARY NEWS reported quoting Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the ISPR, the change of command ceremony was held at Gujranwala Cantonment, where Lieutenant General Syed Asim Munir handed over command of Gujranwala Corps to Lieutenant General Muhammad Aamer.

On October 06, the public relations wing of the armed forces announced postings and transfers wherein Lt. Gen. Muhammad Amir was posted as the Commander Gujranwala Corps and Lt Gen Asim Munir has been posted as the Quartermaster General.

During the reshuffle, Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum, an erstwhile Karachi Corps Commander, was posted as 25th Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief after his predecessor Lt Gen Faiz Hameed was posted Peshawar Corps Commander.

The report at that time said that these appointments and transfers have taken place and reportedly there will be more in the days to come as some of the top generals reach their end of term shortly.
