According to Radio Pakistan, the statement was made by President Mamnoon Hussain while addressing a roundtable conference on Islamic Banking in the federal capital.
The president stated that the growth in Islamic Banking in the banking sector was encouraging.
“This shows the tendencies of public towards the Sharia system and makes it also incumbent upon the relevant quarters to further bring improvement in it”, Hussain said.
“The government is pursuing appropriate policies for the promotion of Islamic Banking and Finance in the country”, he said.
He added that the society has been harmed due to corruption and all efforts must be made to get rid of it.
