TOP NEWS

ISLAMABAD: The dialogue committees of the government and the Taliban consented on Thursday to negotiate on peace talks under the constitution, ARY News reported on Thursday.

According to joint statement issued after over a 3-hour long meeting, committee members agreed to refrain from issuing statements against each other.

Taliban Committee members Maulana Samiul Haq briefed the media after a meeting at Khyber Pakhtonkhwa House in Islamabad.

The committee members said no activity be carried out that may hamper the peace process. They said a delegation will also fly to Waziristan to meet Taliban leadership, if needed.

Negotiators said the dialogue process must reach its logical end at the earliest. The committee represented by Taliban demanded that their outfit should not be labeled as ‘banned’.
