The revised rates were announced by Petrol Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi while talking to the media here in Islamabad.
The per litre cost of diesel has also been cut down by three rupees.
It should be noted that Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), in its report, had recommended the ministry to decrease the price of petrol by Rs. 6.14 per litre and diesel by Rs. 7.40 per litre.
