According to Radio Pakistan, the statement was made by PM Nawaz Sharif during a meeting with Chief Executive Officer of VimpelCom Jean-Yves Charlier.
He also said that the telecommunication sector has been revolutionized and successful launch of 3-G and 4-G during the federal government’s tenure is a clear evidence of it.
The prime minister said that the federal government is urging the mobile companies to expand its operations to the far-flung areas of Pakistan. He added offers and ideal atmosphere in investing in telecommunication sector as it has one of the largest cellphone subscribers.
PM Sharif added that the federal government believes in open and transparent policies in order to explore opportunities of doing business in Pakistan.
In the meeting, CEO of VimpelCom lauded the federal government’s business-friendly policies.
