ISLAMABAD: The government has chalked out a comprehensive strategy for protection of wildlife and natural habitats of the country, Secretary Ministry of Climate Change Syed Abu Ahmad Akif said on Saturday.
“A Rs750 million program has been launched for capacity building and strengthening of institutions engaged in wildlife protection at federal and provincial levels,” he said.
He said National Council for Conservation of Wildlife has been revived for regulating and implementing the steps taken by the government for curtailing illegal trade of wildlife species, Radio Pakistan reported.

The secretary said funds worth Rs250 million have been earmarked for management of Houbara Bustard and migratory birds alone.
