Unannounced power breakdowns in different areas of Karachi has become an order of the day. Residents of several areas complained of frequent power outages and castigated the power utility ‘K-Electric’ for not notifying the maintenance shutdown on time.

Residents of Clifton, Defence and other surrounding areas moaned that their areas had no electricity for Saturday night. They cited K-Electric as saying that electricity feeders had tripped, resulting power shutdown.
The K-Electric posted on its twitter account schedule for maintenance shutdown mentioning only two areas. However, the power utility did not issue any statements for long breakdown of power in several areas including Defence.
