MIRANSHAH:A prominent leader of Taliban militants, Asmatullah Shaheen Bhittani was killed in a shooting incident in North Waziristan tribal region, ARY News reported on Monday.
Unidentified armed men opened fire at a vehicle in Dargah Mandi area of North Waziristan, in which Taliban commander Asmatullah Shaheen was killed along with his three guards, sources said.
Asmatullah Shaheen was a prominent commander of militants and former chief of the Taliban Shura, sources said.
The residents of the tribal region fleeing from the area amid fears of military offensive against Taliban militants in North Waziristan, which is the hotbed of militant insurgency.
