MIRANSHAH: The fighting between two key groups of Taliban militants has intensified as eight persons were killed in two shooting incidents in Shawal area of North Waziristan and Tank, ARY News reported on Wednesday.  

In the first incident in Shawal Some gunmen opened fire at a car killing four persons affiliated with Hakeemullah Mehsud group, official sources said.

After a few hours some gunmen opened fire at a hotel in Tank killing four more persons.

Recently a spate of clashes and killings has been started in the region. Unknown gunmen killed commander Shafeeq of Hakeemullah Mehsud group and his colleagues in Shaktoi two days' ago.

The reports suggest that the months long tension between Hakeemullah Mehsud  and Khalid Sajjna groups has turned into a bloody clash. Differences emerged between the two rival groups over the regional chief of the militants.

A key commander of Tehreek e Taliban Asmatullah Shaheen was also murdered in February in a clash.

The central shura of TTP is trying to settle down differences between the two warring groups, sources said.
