Foreign diplomats shine in SSU shooting event

Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi, Javed Akhtar Odho, participated in a firing competition ceremony at the Special Security Unit (SSU) headquarters.

The event was attended by senior police officials, including the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Security and Emergency Services Division, as well as ambassadors from various countries, according to the Karachi Police spokesperson.

During the visit, the Karachi Police Chief reviewed the firing competitions and engaged in discussions with the ambassadors on matters of security.

The DIGP Security and Emergency Services Division briefed the attendees on SSUs professional training programs, which were praised by the contestants for their adherence to international standards.

Thirteen countries, including United States, Russia, Britain, France, Türkiye and Malaysia, took part in the event, which featured both men and women competitors.

In the men’s category, the French Consul General took top honors, followed by the Russian Consul General in second place, and the American Consulate in third.

In the women’s individual category, Kelly McFarlane from the American Consulate secured first place, with Malaysia’s representative coming in second and Turkey’s representative taking third.
