KARACHI: Fire erupted at a timber godown in Old Haji Camp area of Karachi burnt millions of rupees timber, ARY News reported on Monday.
According to reports, the fire erupted at a godown of timber market in Lyari area in the wee hours of Monday at 4:00 AM.
The blaze rapidly engulfed three more godowns of the area and flames of the fire were posing threat to adjacent residential buildings in the locality.
Scores of fire tenders participated in the firefighting operation and putout the fire within one and half hour.
The residents of the area have complained a belated response from the fire brigade department and have urged the authorities to improve the performance of the firefighting department.
