Faryal Talpur disqualification case

LARKANA: PPP Women’s Wing President Faryal Talpur’s nomination papers to contest the elections from PS-11 Ratodero, Larkana were challenged on Thursday for running an offshore company & holding of ‘Iqama’.

Mainly objections were raised by two voters of the constituency – Wahab Bhutto and Qadir Baksh, according to their claim, Zardari’s sister, who filed nomination papers from Larkana, is a director of an offshore company, holds an Iqama, owner of three flats in Dubai which she has not disclosed in her nomination papers.

Since she has failed to declare all of her assets in the nomination papers, therefore as per the petitioners she is not ‘saadiq’ (honest) or ‘ameen’ (loyal).

They have also requested the returning officer, Larkana, to reject Faryal’s papers for hiding information, he termed it as violation of the Election Act 2017. The returning officer has served a notice to Faryal Talpur to submit her response by Thursday. Also her papers are put on hold and summoned parties for a hearing on June 18.
