In a major push to double its tourist numbers by 2028, Egypt has introduced a new emergency e-Visa on arrival, beginning at Cairo International Airport.
The digital initiative is designed to streamline entry procedures, modernise border controls, and significantly enhance the travel experience for international visitors.
The newly launched system allows eligible travellers to obtain a tourist visa within minutes upon arrival using self-service kiosks, an upgraded online platform, or a dedicated mobile app.
The move particularly benefits last-minute travellers, those with incomplete documentation, or individuals who were unable to secure a visa prior to departure.
