KASHMORE: Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has said that there were 35 hostages in Larkana when he took charge as Sindh’s home minister.
Talking to media in Kashmore, the minister said that the people were traveling in convoys at that time but now the conditions have improved.
He said currently five persons have been hostages in Kashmore including recently kidnapped Customs officials. “Before them there was only one abductee in the district”.
Home minister promised to install CCTVs at entry and exit points of Kashmore.
It is to be mentioned here that the bandits attacked a customs check post at the Indus Highway to abduct four customs officials including an inspector.
SSP Kashmore had confirmed kidnapping of the customs officials adding that notorious Yaseen Machhi gang of bandits has kidnapped them.
Home minister said that there was no hostage taking case in Sukkur and Larkana and lauded efforts of the SSP Kashmore and DIG Larkana.
He directed police to act without accepting any political or tribal pressure. “I have held meetings with Hindu Panchayat leaders as well as other social and political leaders”, he said.
“I have directed police to step up operations against bandits in Kashmore,” he added.
