LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Wednesday expressed sadness over the damage caused to different crops by heavy downpour and hail storms across Punjab.

“Sad to see the damage to wheat, Maize , Mangoes and other crops due to the extraordinarily heavy hailstorms throughout Punjab,” he tweeted.

“These are testing times for all farmers,” Tareen said, expressing the hope that the Punjab government will help small farmers.

Torrential rain and hail storms devastated standing wheat and gram cops in Punjab due to which farmers incurred substantial losses. They are demanding financial assistance from the provincial government.

The rain coupled with thunderstorm also claimed over a dozen lives in the province.
