Court hears treason case against Musharraf

ISLAMABAD: Special Court constituted for hearing treason charges against former military ruler of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf resumed its hearing on Wednesday, ARY News reports.

The court yesterday granted two days' exemption to Musharraf from appearing before the bench. 

Chief Prosecutor of the case Akram Shaikh in his arguments before the bench today said that the law pertained to the special court have no flaws, and if any, criminal procedure code will be applicable in the case. 

After completion of the arguments of the counsels of two sides, the court reserved its decision on the matter.

The medical report of Musharraf was submitted in the court yesterday. Copies of the report also provided to the lawyers.

The court headed by Justice Faisal Arab would announce its ruling in relation to the medical report on Thursday (tomorrow).

The report submitted in the court on health condition of Pervez Musharraf recommends bypass surgery for the former military ruler of Pakistan. 

Pervez Musharraf facing treason charges against him for proclamation of emergency in Year 2007. 

The motorcade of former military ruler of Pakistan was diverted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology on January 2, while on his way to the  court for treason trial.
