Petitioner Samira Wajahat pleaded that an appeal against her brother’s conviction was pending in the apex court and hence the implementation of his death sentence should be suspended until the court decides on the appeal.
The court advised the petitioner to approach the Supreme Court over the matter.
The court’s writ branch yesterday returned the petition with objection that the copy of death warrant of the MQM activist was attached with the plea.

An ATC had awarded death sentence to Saulat Mirza in May 1999 for committing murder the managing director of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation Shahid Hamid, his driver Ashraf Brohi and guard Khan Akbar in July 1997.
