Judicial commission to probe vote fraud formed

TOP NEWS

According to details, the government has finally formed a three-member judicial commission demanded by PTI to probe alleged irregularities in last general elections. The commission will be headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Nasir ul Mulk.

The other two members of the commission are Mr. Justice Amir Hani Muslim, and  Mr. Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan.

The commission will hold its first meeting tomorrow at the Supreme Court of Pakistan at 1 pm.

The Commission has been constituted in pursuance of the request sent by Ministry of Law Justice and Human Rights under the General Election 2013 Inquiry Commission Ordinance, 2015.

PTI had staged protest sit-ins in Islamabad for almost two months alongside countrywide demonstrations against alleged rigging of General Elections 2013.

Prolonged series of talks with the government finally helped both sides reach a consensus on commission’s formation, a few days ago.

After which, Tehreek-i-Insaf also ended its boycott of the assemblies and the party chairman Imran Khan himself attended the joint session of the Parliament on Yemen situation.
