ISLAMABAD: Owners of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in Punjab have hiked per litre cost of the gas by Rs. 2.20, ARY News reported on Wednesday.
According to details, CNG rates in Punjab have reached Rs. 53.20 per kilogram following the increase in the tariff.
The decision of raising CNG prices was criticized by the masses. The masses stated that people will suffer if gas station owners decide prices.
The masses have also criticized the federal government’s decision of deregulating CNG prices in the country.
Meanwhile, CNG owners have said that the step was taken due to the increase in imported liquefied natural gas costs.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources has already deregulated the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in the province of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The All Pakistan CNG Association had welcomed the decision and said that it will provide new lease of life to the dying sector, and will also solve the problem of the unavailability of CNG.
