The LHC sought the reply while hearing a petition filed by the Chinese company Globin’ through its representative Mr Hu Longbin.
It was said in a petition that the local police had raided their tannery at Deengarh (Kasur) on Sept 6, 2015 and seized over 1,000 hides of donkeys and also registered a case against workers.
The counsel of Chinese company said the firm had been in trading of animal hides for at least 20 years. He said the illegal action of the police caused the company a loss of Rs40 million. He denied that company had anything to do with donkey meat.
Justice Erum Sajjad Gull heard initial arguments and issued notice to the government and also summoned a notification of ban on export of donkey hides.
