Mian Kamran was arrested during a pre-dawn raid at a guesthouse on charges of running a rare campaign urging the Chief of the Army Staff (CAOS) General Raheel Sharif to impose martial law and form a government of technocrats.

He has been held on charges of creating uncertainty and maligning the Pakistan army by put up banners for his campaign in major cities across the country.

Sources told ARY News that Police had also arrested Mian Kamran’s father and brother in the same case.

The banners triggered panic within the political circles of the country. Almost all of the major political parties termed it a conspiracy against the democratically elected Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government.

However, it has also been learnt that ‘Move on Pakistan’ Chairman had important meetings with major political personalities of Punjab recently before his arrest today.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has already clarified that the armed forces have nothing to do with the banner campaign and the party that has claimed to place them in different cities of the country.
