Local villagers dived in the canal water and rescued 11 persons including school children and transferred them to a local hospital for medical attendance.
The divers were still searching for an untraced girl drowned as the boat capsized in the canal..
The rescuers were facing difficulties in search due to stormy water in the deep canal.
The boat was carrying students and teachers from this side of the canal, to a school located across the canal, local people said.
