KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Wednesday expressed concern over the recent detentions of opposing leaders in the country.

Chairing a high-level meeting of PPP, Bilawal Bhutto slammed the government for apprehending Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique and termed it political victimization.

PPP senior leaders Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Qaim Ali Shah and others were also present in the meeting.

The meeting also reviewed the arrangements of Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary on December 27 at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.

Bilawal asked the PPP leaders to ensure the participation of activists across the country in the death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.

It is pertinent to mention here that the official from National Accountability Bureau (NAB), on December 11, had arrested Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique after Lahore High Court rejected their bail plea in Paragon Housing scam case.

Whereas the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)  on Tuesday offloaded leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz from a foreign airline’s flight at Lahore airport.

Sources confirmed that the PML-N leader was offloaded from the flight because of a NAB case pending against him.
