Balochistan health minister survives rocket attack in Panjgur’s Paroom

PANJGUR: Balochistan Health Minister Rehmat Saleh Baloch escaped a rocket attack in the most volatile town of Paroom in Panjgur district on Thursday morning, officials said.

The minister’s convoy was travelling from Panjgur city to Paroom when came under attack by militants hiding nearby mountains. However, Baloch remained unhurt along with his other aides.

According to Levies sources, the militants used various weapons including rockets in the attack. However, the assailants managed to flee from the scene when the paramilitary force retaliated.

Acting swiftly, the frontier corps (FC) personnel reached the area and launched search operation in a bid to apprehend suspects involved in the attack.

No group has claimed the responsibility so far. But, such attacks in the area commonly carried out by the militants of a number of nationalist groups.

Rehmat Saleh Baloch, who belongs to National Party, was elected a member of Balochistan Assembly in the general elections of 2013.
