The elected councilors have taken their oath whereas voting process is underway for election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Quetta.
The councilors are also casting votes for the post of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the local councils in various districts of Balochistan.
The polls took an interesting turn when the elections for Chairman and Vice Chairman of District Council Quetta were tied and a toss was held to decide the winner. Naeem Bazai of All Parties Democratic Alliance and Asmatullah Khan Bazai of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) emerged as the winners of the election.
Chairman and Vice Chairmans for Dera Bugti, Harnai, Panjgur and Jhal Magsi districts returned uncontested whereas the voting for Chairman and Vice Chairman of districts Zob, Musa Khel, Jafarabad, Dera Murad Jamali has also been completed.
