    CTD foils major attack on Youm-e-Shuhada in Jamshoro, arrests 3 terrorists

    JAMSHORO: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh foiled a major terrorist plot and arrested three suspected terrorists linked to the banned outfit ‘SRA’ during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Jamshoro district, officials said on Friday.

    According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was carried out on the night of August 28-29 near Bholari Road, Site Area Kotri. During the raid, three suspects—identified as Hanif Bhatt, Mashooq Rind, and Sher Ali—were taken into custody.

    CTD officials recovered hand grenades, explosive materials, prohibited weapons, and ammunition from the suspects.

    The spokesperson revealed that the arrested individuals were planning a major terrorist attack on September 6 (Youm-e-Shuhada). The suspects were also involved in attacks on cargo trailers traveling from Sindh to Punjab and had been wanted in several terrorism-related cases.

    One of the arrested, Hanif Bhatt, was a highly wanted terrorist by CTD Hyderabad. The suspects allegedly carried out attacks on the instructions of a man named Noor Chandio. They reportedly received detailed operational orders from an associate, Arbab Bheel, via Halar Chang.

    The CTD further stated that a terrorist plot was also planned for August 14 in Hyderabad, but it was thwarted due to strict security measures by law enforcement agencies.

    Investigations revealed that the suspects’s group had split into two factions. Several members of one faction—Aamir Latif Chang, Shoaib Chang, and Shaban Chang—had already been arrested. Hanif Bhatt had previously managed to escape during a separate operation.

    The suspects had reportedly reconciled recently and were planning sabotage on the Bholari railway track a day before their arrest. “All funding for the group allegedly came through Halar Chang”, the spokesperson added. “Further investigations are ongoing”.

    For the unversed, her music producer beau’s real name is Benjamin Joseph Levin.

    Besides Gomez, reports also suggested that her husband-to-be, Blanco, also enjoyed a bachelor party with his friends in Las Vegas, at the same time as his fiancée; however, it is yet to be confirmed.

    Punjab uses thermal drone technology to rescue floods victims

    Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has lauded the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) for using thermal drones to rescue Punjab flood victims, ARY News reported on Friday.

    With much of Punjab now under CCTV surveillance, authorities have deployed thermal imaging drone technology to support rescue and relief operations in flood-affected areas. The advanced monitoring tools were used to spot and track stranded citizens and livestock across several districts, including Sialkot, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Jhang.

    The initiative—led by the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA)—enabled swift coordination of over 800 rescue cases, ensuring timely evacuation and assistance to vulnerable populations. CM Maryam Nawaz also took to her Facebook account to laud the PSCA team for aiding in the rescue.

    Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz noted that the integration of drones with the Safe City surveillance network has significantly enhanced the province’s disaster response capability. By combining real-time aerial imaging with ground coordination, rescue teams were able to reach areas that were otherwise inaccessible due to heavy flooding.

    The use of drones for monitoring and rescue efforts is expected to continue as Punjab braces for further rainfall and the risk of rising floodwaters.

    Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited flood-affected areas in Punjab to review the situation and ongoing relief efforts.

    Before his departure, Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lt Gen Inam Haider briefed the Prime Minister on the overall flood situation across the country.

    The prime minister was also given an update on the rescue and relief operations underway in submerged areas.

    Hulk Hogan’s widow, Sky Daily, is planning to file a lawsuit against at least one of the WWE legend’s doctors, alleging medical malpractice linked to his death.

    The case is expected to focus on a neck operation Hulk Hogan underwent in May, which Sky Daily believes caused damage that contributed to his passing at his Clearwater Beach home in July.

    Sky Daily has already arranged for a private autopsy as part of her investigation, while the official medical examiner’s report listed a heart attack as Hulk Hogan’s cause of death. Police in Clearwater are still carrying out their own inquiries.

    Sources close to the matter say Sky Daily is convinced the procedure compromised vital functions and played a major role in Hulk Hogan’s death. An occupational therapist present at the time of the incident also raised concerns about the surgery.

    Hulk Hogan, who died aged 71, remains one of the most famous names in wrestling history. Sky Daily, determined to hold those responsible to account, has not yet released the autopsy results but her decision to pursue legal action suggests she believes the findings support her claims.

    If the lawsuit proceeds, it will keep Hulk Hogan’s final months under scrutiny and could place his doctors at the centre of a major legal battle.

    Earlier, weeks after Hulk Hogan, 71, passed away on July 24, police continued to investigate the death of the wrestling legend as a new report claims medical malpractice.

    As per the report, an occupational therapist, who was purportedly present with Hulk Hogan at the time of his death in Florida last month, claimed to Clearwater Police officials on Friday that a surgeon had ‘severed’ the phrenic nerve of the WWE icon during a recent operation.

    According to the Cleveland Clinic, the said nerve controls the diaphragm, the muscle primarily responsible for breathing in the human body.

    As the investigation continues, a public information officer said that the Clearwater Police Department has been in communication with family members, including both his children, Nick and Brooke.

    “The Hogan family has been appreciative of our efforts and our communication with them,” the official said. “All of this takes time.”

    “We plan to meet with the family and brief them on the case to this point, and we will share the results of the investigation with the family prior to closing the case and releasing it to the public and media,” the PIO added and confirmed that no records, including bodycam footage, will be released yet, as the investigation is ongoing.

    The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)  has forecast rain in Karachi from tomorrow (August 30) to September 2, ARY News reported.

    The PMD in ites forecast warned the authorities that Karachi may face possible urban flooding between August 30 and September 2.

    According to the meteorological department, thunderstorms with rain are expected in Islamabad from August 29 to September 2, while heavy rainfall is likely in the northern and north-eastern districts of Punjab on August 30 and 31.

    Rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin from August 30 to 31.

    It is worth noting that during heavy rain in Karachi last week, the city was turned into a river. In many areas, boats had to be sent to rescue affected residents.
