ISLAMABAD: Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday shared the launching time of his anti-government movement, which is going to be after Eid.

Speaking to media outside Islamabad High Court, he said the National Accountability Bureau’s cases (NAB) and the national economy cannot go side by side.

In a response to a question regarding the date and venue of the anti-government movement, the co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) told that the movement will take to streets, while further alleging that, “They [government] know it, that is why these cases are being filed [against us].”

The PPP leader also slammed the government’s amnesty scheme, saying that there was no difference between the schemes of past and the present.

It may be recalled that Zardari hinted about the anti-government protests few days earlier, however, he did not specify a date for it then. He had also announced in April to join anti-government movement being initiated by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
