Armed assailants opened fire on ASI Asif Mehmood’s vehicle when he was travelling with his children to drop them to school, police said.
The policeman died on the spot, as the attackers escaped from the crime scene on their motorbike.
The body of slain policeman was shifted to the city’s Lady Reading Hospital.
