ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here and discussed the matters related to the process of dialogue with Taliban, ARY News reported on Tuesday. 

Gen. Raheel Sharif also discussed the security situation of the country. 

The government committee for peace talks today expressed inability to carry forward the dialogue process with the Taliban.        

 The committee in a statement  said dialgoue could not continue until Taliban halt their offensive against the state.

The committee met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and informed him about the decision. The committee said participating in meetings would be meaningless, especially after the killing of 23 FC men in Mohmand Agency amid the dialogue process.

The committee reiterated that progress could not be made in current circumstances. The current situation in not conducive for dialogue, said the statement.
