According to details, Lahore district government staff sealed three marriage halls while arrested five hall owners for violating the marriage act by allowing to serve more than one dish and the ceremony to go beyond the time limit.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Muhammad Anwar said that from now onwards, the bride groom will be arrested in case of such a violation.
It must be noted that Punjab Marriage Functions Act restricts citizens from any ostentatious display and wasteful expenses on marriages and ceremonies.
Amongst the notable restrictions, citizens are directed to serve only one dish, do not display the dowry publicly and finish the ceremony before 10 PM.
